Essential NZeTA, IVL, and Biosecurity information for your trip
Citizens of over 60 visa-waiver countries (including UK, USA, Canada, EU) do not need a visa but MUST hold an NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority).
Most visitors must also pay the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL).
If you are not from a visa-waiver country, or want to stay longer than 3 months (or 6 months for UK), you need a Visitor Visa.
New Zealand has some of the strictest biosecurity laws in the world to protect its unique environment and agriculture. You must declare ALL food, plants, and animal products on your arrival card.
Failure to declare can result in an instant NZD $400 fine or deportation.
